I can find the WASP 39 M font file in the folder C: Windows Fonts and WASP 39 M registry key under HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion Fonts. Then I launch Visual Studio 2008 IDE and can find WASP 39 M font displayed in the list of 'Font' in VS IDE. Please check the following screen shot: It looks like that this font file can work with Visual Studio 2008 IDE. I can see the font in VS if I open the font file (Font Viewer). Some clarification with you: How can you see the font in VS IDE? Do you mean that you can open the font file in VS IDE? What's the 'Font Viewer'? As far as I know, by default, there seems to be no 'Font Viewer' in VS IDE.
